If your pet is hospitalized:
ESTIMATES AND PREPAYMENTS
Prior to your pet being hospitalized, you will receive an printed estimate of the charges for the care and hospitalization of your pet. This is an estimate and not an invoice. Due to the nature of your pet's condition, it is not always possible to anticipate all charges. If we are going to exceed the estimated charges, we will make every attempt to contact you prior to doing so. Burleson Animal Emergency Hospital requires prepayment of the estimated charges prior to initiating treatment of you pet.
PATIENT UPDATES
Feel free to call and check on the condition of your pet at anytime. Your pet is under constant supervision while hospitalized and members of our staff are available at all times to answer your questions and give you medical updates. Although you may not always be able to speak directly to your pet's doctor, the staff will be able to relay messages if the doctor cannot come to the phone.
VISITATION
Please keep in mind that your pet does not understand why you keep leaving them and in many cases it may be counter productive for your pet to see you leave again and again. Visitation is allowed at the discretion of the attending doctor and only if your pet can be transported to an exam room for visitation. For safety and insurance reasons, it is against hospital policy for clients to enter our treatment area.
DISCHARGE
Burleson Animal Emergency Hospital is designed to provide veterinary care for your pets while your regular veterinarian is unavailable. Our goal is to return your pet to the care of your regular veterinarian as soon as possible.
If your pet is hospitalized during the week (Mon-Thurs), you will be required to pick up your pet prior to 7:30 am the following morning.
If your pet is hospitalized over the weekend (Fri-Sun), you will be required to pick up your pet prior to 7:30 am the following Monday morning.
Please come early if you would like to speak to the attending veterinarian directly. All animals must be picked up by 8:00 a.m. Any animals not picked up by 8:00 a.m. will be assessed a late fee.
